Day 13: Go To Goshen

Day 13: Go To Goshen There may be many times in our lives, when our faith is stretched, particularly in seasons of famine and uncertainty. We need to know in the heart of our hearts, that even in the stretching season, God is still the one who provides, and He provides well. In Genesis 45, Joseph urged his brothers to come live near him in Goshen. “Come as fast as you can and join me here,” he instructed them. When they went to Goshen, Joseph provided for all of them, even during a severe famine. The word ‘Goshen’ means a place of nearness. For you and me, Goshen represents that place of nearness to Jesus, where we just rest in His presence. I Corinthians 6:17 tells us that ‘he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.’ This means that as a believer, you are in a permanent place of closeness with Jesus Christ. In this place of nearness, Goshen, He will protect and provide for you. He will fight your battles for you and bring you out of death. He will guide you and lead you f

Day 12: Surely Goodness

Day 12: Surely Goodness Since we live in ever-changing circumstances, sometimes, we may begin to believe that God’s favor is seasonal or temporary. Again, and again, the Word of God tells us of the truth - God’s love and favor are constant, unchanging, and permanent. In Psalm 23:6, David writes, Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. (KJV) The psalmist says ‘surely’, meaning affirmatively and with certainty. God’s favor following us is a sure thing! When I studied the word used for ‘goodness’ in the Hebrew, it is the same word that refers to favor. Similarly, the word used for ‘mercy’ here, also means favor. God is confirming twice that His favor is upon your life. What’s more, we are not running after the goodness of God, it is running after us. DECLARE: I declare that the favor of God will set me apart. Favor will qualify me and protect me. Thank you, God, that because of Jesus, your goodness and merc

Day 11: Man Of Sorrows

Day 11: Man Of Sorrows Thousand of years ago, the fall of Adam brought the curse of sorrow over humanity. In Genesis 3:17 we read: And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; (KJV) In the original Hebrew, the word used for ‘sorrow’ means worrisomeness, labor, pain or toil, anguish, and affliction. As a result of Adam’s sin, humankind was condemned to eat the fruit of the ground in sorrow and pain. However, a man of sorrows brought humanity a turnaround. Isaiah 53:3-4 tells us: He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. (KJV) The w

Day 10: What You Carry

Day 10: What You Carry  In the Bible, we see many, many instances where the presence of God has brought mighty breakthroughs in mere moments. The presence of God parted the seas, broke down walls, and brought blessing and protection across generations.  “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭ How amazing is it now, that I Corinthians 3:16 tells us that we are the temple of God - we are the carriers of this presence. All the people we read about in the Old Testament used to go and worship God from the outside, but now the Lord says “I will live on the inside of you, to let you know that wherever you go, my presence and favor will go with you!”  DECLARE: I declare that as the temple of God, I carry His presence and favor wherever I go. I will see God’s presence bring breakthrough, healing and deliverance in my life. Thank you God, that your presence is always with me, turning every trial into a testimony!

Day 9: Sweat And Blood

Day 9: Sweat And Blood  When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they began to live a cursed life, on cursed land.  When Jesus sweat drops of blood, they fell on the ground, signifying how He paid for all our struggles, once and for all. In the Garden of Eden, struggle entered. But in the Garden of Gethsemane, our Savior sweat drops of blood in order to redeem us forever! Since we live in Christ’s finished work, we do not live in curse, bondage, or poverty anymore! The favor of God will come through for you!  So today, whatever you put your hands to, know that you will be fruitful in the name of Jesus. The blood of Christ has made you fruitful!  DECLARE: I decree and declare that the blood of Jesus Christ shed for me on the cross has made me fruitful! The work of my hands will prosper because of the favor that goes before me. My family, my work, and my life is blessed in Jesus’ name!  Pastor Sammy Thangiah

Day 8: For A Lifetime

Day 8: For A Lifetime  Some people think that when you become a Christian, you don’t need to go through trials and storms. In reality, when you are a believer, the enemy tries to put many obstacles in your way. But here’s the good news - it isn’t about your strength, but about the favor of God that is upon your life. How amazing it is to know, my friend, that this favor lasts a lifetime!  The Bible tells us in Psalm 30:5 – For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. (NIV)  I was studying this verse, and some versions say ‘a moment in His favor is life.’ The word for ‘life’ in the Hebrew means to revive, to sustain, a renewal or a revival. When the favor of God is manifesting over you, you will see renewal and revival in your life. Whatever you are going through, the favor of God is powerful and able to revive and sustain you.  DECLARE: I declare that I am blessed with favor from heaven. I have fa

Day 7: Encircled

Day 7: Encircled  We may not always find encouragement and support for our faith in the midst of trials. In fact, a lot of questions and accusations may be thrown our way. This makes it even more important for us to know, remember, and live in the truth of who we are in Christ.  In Ephesians 1:6, we read, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. (NKJV)  We are accepted in the Beloved. The word ‘accepted’ in the Greek means to make graceful, to honor with blessings, to pursue with grace and compass with favor. To be encompassed by favor is to be encircled or to be covered with favor. We find this favor and acceptance in the Beloved.  DECLARE: I declare that I will not be disappointed or defeated. I will walk in the favor of being a child of God. The favor of God covers me, my family, and all that I do in Jesus’ name. Thank you, God, that I walk in the favor of the Beloved!

Day 6: You Will Not Wither

Day 6: You Will Not Wither  …but the Lord upholds the righteous. 18 The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care, and their inheritance will endure forever. 19 In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.” Psalm 37:17-19 NIV When I was studying the word ‘wither’, I learned that it means to become dry, to fall into decay, to decline. However , God says to you, the righteousness of God, that in times of disaster, you will not decrease, but you will increase! You will not decline, but you will go from glory to glory. When God brings you out from the pit, you will not just be blessed, but God will bless you in such a way that you become a blessing to the area, community, and city. DECLARE: I declare that I will flourish in every location and every area of my life. God’s favor upon me will take me from glory to glory. Thank you, God, that even in the dry season, you are blessing me to make me into a blessing!

Day 5: Make Fat

Day 5: Make Fat Isaiah 58:11, we read the promise: The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. (NIV) The word ‘satisfy’ in the Hebrew means to enrich, to be fulfilled, to have in excess, and to have your desires satisfied. In the sun-scorched land, be it in disaster or famine, God is saying He will fulfill His promises to you and your family. Even in a dry land, you have a permanent spring of living water through Jesus! DECLARE: I declare that the Lord will guide me always and satisfy my needs in times of disaster. God will strengthen me, rescue me, and deliver me. I decree abundance and divine provision in all seasons because I walk in the never-failing goodness of God.

Day 4: Never x 5

Day 4: Never x 5  Often, and especially in this challenging season, we may be going through tough times when we ask, ‘Are you there, God? What’s happening?’ The circumstances may seem completely out of control, with no way out.  “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:5‬ ‭ What many versions miss out, is this – in the Greek, the words that are translated to ‘never’ are not just the strongest negatives, they are also ordered and repeated in a significant way. If this verse were translated exactly, it would sound like this – “I will never, I will never leave you and I will never, I will never, I will never forsake you.”  Pastor Sammy Thangiah

Day 3: In Disaster

Day 3: In Disaster  “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18:21‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Many people think that the favor of God is only available to them in the good times. The truth is that God wants to heal you, deliver you, and set you free, always! The Bible tells us of people who have gone through the darkest times, and yet even in the darkness, God’s favor is evident upon their lives.  The Bible tells us that as believers, our tongues have the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21). Therefore, whether in disaster or not, we need to be speaking the promises of God.  DECLARE: I decree and declare that even in the midst of disaster, the promises of God are yes and Amen in my life. I will see God’s faithfulness bring me out of every difficult situation. Even as I speak life, healing, and fullness over myself and my family, I will see it manifest in the natural in the name of Jesus!

Day 2: Favor Upon Favor

Day 2: Favor Upon Favor  Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. John 1:16 NIV  In the Greek, the word used for grace also refers to favor. This verse then tells us that we have all received favor upon favor. Secondly, when we look at the word ‘fullness’ it means to be filled with His presence and filled with power. It refers to having the riches of God in Christ – not just earthly, but spiritual riches as well. God hasn’t just blessed us with favor, but double favor, in its fullness.  DECLARE: I declare the double favor of heaven over the work of my hands. In the midst of the storm, I am highly favored. Whatever I need, the Lord has already supplied to me in overflowing measure.  Sammy Thangiah.

Day 1 40 days of supernatural favour

Highlights from the new book of Pastor Sammy Thangiah Day 1 “Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭5:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Here, the Hebrew word used for ‘surround’ refers to a couple of things. First, it means to encircle or to fully cover. The second meaning of this word is to crown.God has crowned each of us with favor. When He looks at you and me, He sees princes and princesses – walking in His favor and goodness. When a person is walking in the fullness of the favor of God, you can’t keep them down for long! DECLARE: I declare that the favor of God surrounds me and covers me wherever I go! I am more than a conqueror through Christ who strengthens me. I am crowned with favor, and I will walk in the goodness of the Lord.

How to pray Day 6

Day 6 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭111:10‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/59/psa.111.10.esv There’s a beautiful symmetry in the opening lines of the Lord’s Prayer: Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name. Jesus simultaneously invites us into revolutionary intimacy with our Father and reverential awe of his holiness.  Both of these aspects are important in our worship and prayer lives. Many people struggle with prayer simply because they doubt that God likes them. But there are probably just as many of us who fail to fully grasp his holiness. I wanted to share this testimony of my wife’s last day in this world on 20 Feb 2010 Maria's health was deteriorating in 2010 We decided to go for the second operation at Fortis hospital. The surgery was on 19 Feb 2010 and her condition was critical after the operation. I sent mobile SMS's to all for prayer and I was f

How to pray Day 5

Day 5 “But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭131:2‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/59/psa.131.2.esv Often when we start to pray it takes time to quiet and settle ourselves; to clear our busy minds and refocus on who we are praying to. That’s why it’s so important that we learn to be still. This is the first step in a deeper prayer life. Stillness and silence prepare our minds and prime our hearts to pray from a place of greater peace, faith and adoration.

How to pray Day 4

Day 4 “One day Jesus taught the apostles to keep praying and never stop or lose hope. He shared with them this illustration:” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭18:1‬ ‭TPT‬‬ https://www.bible.com/1849/luk.18.1.tpt No matter how simply and honestly we pray it’s easy to lose heart and it's tempting to give up. That’s why it’s not enough just to keep it simple and keep it real, Jesus also says that we must "always pray, and not give up." I’ve found that one of the most important keys to "keeping it up" in prayer is to develop the discipline of a daily "quiet time". Jesus once invited his friends, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest", (Mark 6:31 NIVUK) and millions of his followers, ever since, have allocated a little time each day to retreat with Jesus to a quiet place.

How to pray Day 3

“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/59/mat.6.6.esv Jesus invites us to keep prayer simple and also to keep it real. The Bible is full of honest, prayers that are deep expressions of the heart. Sometimes these honest moments become our most important prayers. As we pray today, let’s spend some time telling God what is really on our hearts. In 2007, she had a major ailment of an infection in the blood that affected her heart. After a month's treatment at St. Johns Hospital the doctors told us we could take her home. However, on the day she was to be discharged, before we could come out of the hospital, she collapsed in the toilet. She was rushed to the CCU and the doctors declared that she was dead. We were praying for her life and once again God did amiracle. As Maria recollected this incident she told us that as she l

How to pray Day 2

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus,” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:19‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/59/heb.10.19.esv Keep it Simple The best bit of advice I’ve ever received about how to pray was this: keep it simple, keep it real, keep it up. Jesus warns us against getting over complicated in prayer. Instead, we are to keep it simple. To go into our room, close the door, and spend time with our Father. Jesus models this simplicity with The Lord’s Prayer, a prayer that was just thirty words long in its original language and takes approximately thirty seconds to read aloud. Jesus reminds us that prayer is the most natural and simple thing in the Universe. The writer of Hebrews is clear that God’s presence is freely available to us all at any time, in any place, through Jesus (Hebrews 10:19). God invites you to pray simply, directly and truthfully In 2003, Maria ( my wife )became ill and the doctor suggested for an open-heart surgery. W
