John 4:14a
Today's verse, we will meditate on John 4, 14, the first part of it. But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. Hallelujah! We will see some of the great truths of these words. So, we will meditate on each word of this verse.
The first word "but" it says what links the hope of this promise to their hopelessness of the previous statement? The previous statement says everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again. It Compares with this physical water to the spiritual water. Why then, all the world did not receive the spiritual drink. The answer is simple man do not want to give up their sin, and they are deceived into believing that by coming to Christ, they will lose their pleasure and gain nothing. They do not realize that they will lose nothing and gain everything.
The next word, whosoever says, all are lost, therefore, all can be saved. None are excluded. When Jesus died on Calvary, he died for all the mankind, and for all the time Jesus died for every single human being who ever lived and who is now alive and who is to live in the future?
The next word drinks, this means, there is a part for man to play. God does not give salvation to those who refuse to receive. The receiving belongs to man, and it is the drinking. The psalm 34 8 says, oh, taste and see that the Lord is good. Here, Jesus uses water as the symbol for salvation. That I will give him. Jesus alone can give this living water or salvation. The salvation is free, but Jesus Paid a price for this for our salvation. If one tries to Merit, earn or purchase this living water, one automatically forfeits it's possession.
Salvation is by Grace of God Philippians 2:8 It is by the grace of God, and it is a gift of God.
Shall never thirst again, this is a unconditional guarantee, it means searching is over the pearl of great price has been found, and but yet given, free of charge.
It is given free. It is. A gift to you? Let us receive it.
Prayer
Let us pray, Heavenly Father. I thank you for the gift of Salvation, the Living Water which you have given unto us. We pray and commit ourselves to you. We receive it with thanks. We give all glory to you in Jesus precious name, I pray.
