English John 4:9


Praise the Lord. Today's verse is John 4 9. The Samaritan woman said to him. How is it that you a Jew? Ask for a drink from me a woman of Samaria. For the Jews had no dealings with Samaritans. 

This Samaritan woman was astonished to have a Jew asking for water from her because she was a woman and also, she is a Samaritan. The Jews have no dealings with Samaritans, this we have already discussed about it.

At first, to this woman, Jesus was simply a thirsty Jew, asking her for water, but as the story unfolds, we see her understanding of who this is developing. First, as the one who makes great promises Jesus promised her the Living Water. Then she acknowledges him as a prophet in verse 19. It says I perceive that you are a prophet. And finally, she knew him as the Messiah, the savior, the savior of this world, the Redeemer of this world and that is in verse 25, 26 and 29. Increasing understanding of who Christ is, this is a common experience for all believers because it's the Holy Spirit who gives us the wisdom to know Jesus when we have not accepted Jesus or when we are not born again, it was the Holy Spirit was convicting, us of our sins and also telling us that we need Jesus, it may take us many days or many years, but the Holy Spirit keeps on telling us that we need Jesus. And one day we accepted Jesus and then the Holy Spirit comes in us and he guides us, he gives us the language to pray.

These are the things which we see a progressive revelation of Jesus Christ? And now we know that Jesus is in our hearts. 

Prayer 

I pray that we have received you in our life. If you have not received, help us to take this decision today to commit ourselves to you, Lord, because the holy spirit is the one who convicts us, and the Holy spirit will be in us we have received Jesus in our hearts then we know that the holy spirit is in us.

God continue to guide us through the Holy spirit in Jesus precious name I pray. Amen. God bless you.

Praise the Lord. Today's verse is from John 4th chapter and verses one and two. We are studying from the fourth chapter of John from today. Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees have heard that Jesus was baptizing more disciples than John, although Jesus himself did not baptize but only his disciples. In this verse we again see about baptism Jesus and his disciples along with John was baptizing in the same place. It is not written whether Jesus and his disciples followed the baptism of John. MY TESTIMONY

Maria and I were married on 29th July 1981. In 1982 My colleague in Mico called me for a prayer meeting in which I accepted Jesus as my personal savior this changed my life . I was born again I began to trust God for all things in my life. The first tragedy struck us when Maria was diagnosed with a heart problem in 1986. At that time, Mr. Dorairaj told us to seek God's help and so we went to his house for prayer. When we went for prayer pastor said that God has already healed her as we had come in faith expecting a miracle. We did the Cardiac Catheterization test at Sindi Hospital and she was found to be perfectly fine, God gave her a lease of life. In 1987, Danny was born despite the fact that the doctors had told us there would be complications during childbirth, but by God's grace, Maria had a normal delivery.
