John 4:22
Praise the Lord. Today's verse is from John 4, 22.
You worship what you do not know. We worship what we know for the Salvation is from the Jews.
Jesus was telling her what was right and wrong? A Samaritan style of worship was wrong. It was that which God would not accept. Irrespective of how much time they worshiped or how much they used his name. The Samaritan worship was founded not on love, but on ignorance and fear. As we have seen when the foreign people were brought to dwell in Samaria, they brought their own gods with them second Kings 17:29.
We read about it. We are told that a priest from Bethel came and told them how they should fear the lord second Kings 17:28. But all the probability is that they merely added Jehovah to their list of gods because they were superstitiously afraid to leave him.
Irrespective of Israel's present black slidden condition and a departure from the true God, despite the continuing of the religious ceremonies and rituals still, that which had been given to this world by God as come through the Jewish people. God had promised Abraham through his descendants, and from among these people the Messiah would come would redeem the world.
The Jews were given the prophets and the word of God the Bible, as well as ultimately through them. The tribe of Judah, the house of David and the Virgin Mary came the Messiah, not for the Jews only, but for the whole world. Salvation is of the Jews, even though the world little knew it or the Jews did not admit it because they rejected Jesus Christ.
Today, are we knowing Jesus Christ? Are we knowing that is bled and died for our sins and His blood will cleanse our sins? Are we being cleansed by the blood of Jesus? Yes, are we knowing what we worship. Are we having that fellowship with the God whom we serve, or is it just a name sake worship.
Prayer
Let us pray, heavenly Father. I thank you for your word. Thank you, Lord. Worship is truly from our heart Lord. Help us to worship in truth and in spirit. Give us your grace. Our Master. We commit ourselves once again to your hands, the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen. Amen. God bless you.
