John 4:40,41
Praise the Lord! Today's verse is from John 4:40-41
[40] So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days. [41] And many more believed because of his word.
A group of Samaritans came to Jesus. There had been so convinced by the testimony of the Samaritan woman and the Glorious change in her life, so they decided to see it for themselves and came to Jesus and asked Jesus to stay with them for two days.
This is a beautiful moment in the ministry of Jesus, because much of the time he was rejected by the Jews and the Pharisees. The hostility on the part of the Jews have already started, and this would just increase from this point forward until the day he would be crucified. He stayed with them in the Samaritan town for two days. No Jews. Would do that because their heart was ruled by hatred towards the Samaritans. But Jesus heart was ruled by the love towards the lost. One thing was sure, this two days was the greatest time that the people in Samaria in Samaritan Town experienced, many believed in him in the town.
When Jesus spent time with the people preaching the word of God, they would have been hundreds, Who would have turned to Jesus and believed in Jesus. The Samaritans were looking forward for the Messiah to come, and they found the Messiah. Jesus staying in the Samaritan town and eating with them would have brought more hatred from the Jews and the Pharisees.
In Mark 15th chapter, we read. Demon possessed man being delivered. We see in that place called garrisones. They began to beg Jesus to depart from their region. They have just witnessed a great miracle of a demon possessed man being healed yet the rejected Jesus. Maybe because of the loss of the 2000 pigs, or because they do not wanted the Jewish Rabi to come into their place because it was a gentile town. But still, they rejected Jesus.
Today. Also, some people reject Jesus, and some people accept Jesus. Are you the people who accept Jesus.
Prayer
Let us pray, Heavenly Father. I thank you Lord that you are the Messiah. Even as the Samaritan came to you. We come to you, Lord. Bless this day Give us Victory. Oh God, give us your grace and mercy that your presence will be there with us. We are your children. We commit ourselves to you in Jesus name, I pray.
