John 3:1

Praise the Lord. Today's verse is from John 3 1. Now there was a man of the Pharisees. Named Nicodamus a ruler of the Jews.

For the most part, we see that Jesus was surrounded by Ordinary People. But here, we see that he was in contact with an aristocracy of Jerusalem, nicodamas was a wealthy man.

We see this when Jesus died Nikodamus brought for his body, a mixture of Mayr and aloes, weighing about a hundred pound, only a wealthy person can do that. Nicodomas was a Pharisee. A Pharisee entered into a Brotherhood Covenant by taking a pledge in front of three Witnesses. That throughout his life, he will be obeying, the word, the law.

To the Jews. The law was the most sacred thing in the world. The law was first five books of the Old Testament. The scribes and Pharisees are set out to extract from the great principles of the law. Every fine, finite number of rules and regulations to govern every conceivable situations in life.

In other words, they change the law of the great principles into legalism and by law and regulations. Example, we see Bible says that we must remember the Sabbath day and keep it. Holy, and that on that day. No work must be done. Not content with that the leaders Jews spent hours after hours and generation after generation. Defining, what work is enlisting the things that may or may not be done on a Sabbath day.

Third, Nicodomas was a ruler of the Jews. This is to say that he was a member of the Senardin  which was a court of 70 members and Was the Supreme Court of the Jews. They opposed Jesus. But we have here, nicodama is coming to Jesus by night. From this, what are we to learn? We should know that it is by that. Love for God, we do things. It's not like a Pharisee to keep the law and be away from God, let us look to God in prayer.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for this hour of God. I pray God that you will continue to help us to live a life which is pleasing to you. Lord. We love you. We thank you in Jesus name. I pray. Amen. God bless you
