John 6:7
Praise the lord today's Bible verse is from John 6 verse 7 Philip answered him 200 denari worth of bread is not sufficient for them that every one of them may have a little.
Denaris denoted a Roman silver coin equivalent to a labor's average daily wage. So Philip answered Jesus eight months wages would not buy enough food for each each one to have a bite. Notice that Jesus asked where shall we buy food? and Philip really does not answer Jesus that question. Philip responded with what he perceived was a greater, far greater problem than they were and that was, with what were is the money going to come from for the large crowd? Philip looked at the problem in terms of meeting the minimum requirement, even a little from each man is impossible, but Jesus wanted to give them in appendance with 12 baskets left over. Philip thought that the answer was money. Philip sees only the situation, not the possible solution who was Jesus.
The apostle's concern once again exhibited the lack of of faith. They did not remember the miracles Jesus had done. The disciples had just returned from a mission trip where they themselves had did many miracles. They were standing before the one who created the heavens and the earth. They forgot how Jesus changed six big jars of water into wine. Leave Jesus out of your calculation, and you will come up short every time. So first step is not to measure our resources, but to determine God's will and trust Him to meet your need.
When we are faced with a serious sickness, what do we do first? We find out the best doctor, or do we trust in Jesus and go to Him in prayer.
Long back when my daughter was not married for a long time. We did all we can do to get a proposal for her, but it did not come. Then it came a time when my daughter said I am going to take my name out of all the marriage websites and look unto God and immediately the right proposal came and the wedding took place.
What is your situation today? What are you facing today? Let us look to God in prayer.
Prayer
Our heavenly Father, I thank you for this day. Thank you for teaching us, Lord, this great lesson to have faith more than looking into our situation. Lord, we commit our situations, problems, difficulties into your hands.. We praise you, we thank you. We surrender ourselves to you. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen. God bless you.
