John 6:1
Praise the Lord today's verse is from John 6:1. After this Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is this sea of Tiboreus
We are starting with John chapter 6 today in this chapter we are going to see Jesus perform two more impressive miracles and impossible feats. He will feed five thousand and walk on water. This feeding of 5000 is the only miracle recorded in all four gospel, which shows the importance and significance of this miracle. The synoptic gospels which suggests two reasons that Jesus and his disciples withdrew to the eastern side of the lake. Mark 6, says the disciples had just returned from a preaching mission. Jesus too had been heavily involved in exhausting ministry, while they were gone, and the Lord knew the disciples needed a time of rest and instruction. Matthew 14:13 reveals that the news of John the Baptist death provided an additional reason for their withdrawal. So they went away by themselves in a boat, but many who saw them leaving recognised them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them because they saw the miracles he had performed on the sick. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he welcomed them because he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. We read this in Mark 6:32 to 34.
If Jesus can do this, he can feed a 5000 with only five loaves of bread and two fishes and walk on the water think what he can do for your life.
What are your impossibilities, Jeremiah makes this claim in Jeremiah 32:17. Oh Lord god behold you have made the heavens and earth by your great power and outststretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you. What is the impossible in your life, what impossible problem you are facing today? Is it sickness? Is it your children's education? Is it their marriage or any other thing?
Prayer
Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you for this day, God. Thank you for your grace and mercy. Thank you, Lord, because you are a God of impossible things. Lord, you can do all things because you are our God. We commit all our needs, our problems, our difficulties into your hands. Bless this day for us, so God, whatever that impossible situation we are facing, we submit to your hands O father. I receive this miracle right now in Jesus' name. I thank you, Lord, in Jesus' name, I pray. Amen. Amen. God bless you.
