John 6:20

Finding Peace in the Eye of the Storm:

John 6:20

But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.”

Praise the Lord! Today, we reflect on a powerful moment of divine intervention. In John 6:20, as the disciples were tossed about by a literal storm on the sea, Jesus approached them, walking on the water, and said: “It is I; do not be afraid.”

It is a simple phrase, but it carries the weight of the "I AM." Whether you are facing a spiritual, emotional, or physical storm today, this message is for you.

The Reality of the Storm

The disciples were in a desperate situation. They were in a small boat, miles from shore, battling the elements. Their fear was not a sign of weakness; it was a response to a very real danger.

Often, we feel like that small boat. We are tossed by:

 * Physical ailments and hospital visits.

 * Emotional turmoil that feels like rising waves.

 * Spiritual trials that make us feel distant from the shore.

But notice this: Jesus walked about three and a half miles on top of the very thing that terrified them. He wasn't hindered by the storm; He was walking on it.

A Personal Testimony: The Operating Room

Many years ago, I faced a significant "storm" of my own. I needed surgery, but I didn't want it. I prayed fervently for a miracle. I even attended a meeting with Brother D.G.S. Dhinakaran in Bangalore, fully expecting to be healed so I could avoid the knife.

The physical healing didn’t come that day. Instead, God gave me something deeper: His Presence.

While reading Matthew 14, the Lord spoke to my heart about Peter walking on the water. He showed me that even when the storm raged and Peter began to sink, Jesus was right there to catch him. The Lord told me:

"I will be with you in the operation theatre. Do not fear."

I went into that surgery not with a miraculous cure, but with a miraculous Peace. He was with me through every moment of the procedure, and He is with me still.

The Promise of "I AM"

When Jesus says, "It is I," He is reminding us of the promise found in Isaiah 41:10:

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

If you are in a hospital bed today, or if you are facing a difficult decision or a trial that seems too big to handle, remember that Jesus comes with unexpected help. He may not always stop the storm immediately, but He will always walk into it to be with you.

A Prayer for You

Lord, I thank You for this day. I pray for Your people who are going through trials and problems right now. We know that Jesus is with us. Whether we are in the hospital, facing surgery, or struggling with life's burdens, we commit ourselves into Your hands. Bless every person reading this, heal them, and grant them Your perfect peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God bless you.
