John 4:12
Are you greater than our Father Jacob? He gave us the well, and drank from it himself, and did his sons and his livestock,
In this question concerning Jacob we observe the claims of the Samaritans, to be the descendant of Abraham, the son of Isaac and actually of Jacob himself who have dug the well.
Jacob always seems to be running from someone or something, from Euso his brother, who wanted to kill him, then from Labon his father-in-law. And from the famine in Canaan, he flew to Egypt with his family. When he was fleeing from Esuo, he saw in a vision a ladder and in a vision the Majesty and the glory of God.
At Bethel, when he saw God, he worshiped God and woke to take Yahweh as his God at panel, while he was returning back from the his father-in-law Leban Jacob Resseled face to face with God, he taught him the value of continued prayer from one who is helpless Jacob emerged from paniel willing to let his life fall into God's control. He was wounded, but Victorious. God gave him a crippled body but a strengthened Faith. It was a new Jacob with a new name, Israel. The woman asked, are you greater than our father Jacob? Yes, Jesus is greater than any Saints of the Old Testament and also the New Testament because he is the son of God. That is God himself. Today also many people worship the man of God Considering him to be greater than God in their life. This well was considered by the Samaritans to be holy and the water sacred. Today. Also many people consider a place of pilgrim holy and they go to those places. But Matthew 18, 20 says, but Jesus said that, where two or three are gathered in my name, I will be there, John 4, 23 says, but the hour is coming and is now here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth
