John 4:9


Praise the Lord. Today's verse is John 4 9. The Samaritan woman said to him. How is it that you a Jew, Ask for a drink from me a woman of Samaria. For the Jews had no dealings with Samaritans.

 This Samaritan woman was astonished to have a Jew asking for water from her because she was a woman and also, she is a Samaritan. The Jews have no dealings with Samaritans, this we have already discussed about it.

At first, to this woman, Jesus was simply a thirsty, Jew, asking her for water, but as the story unfolds, we see her understanding of who he is, is developing First, as the one who makes great promises Jesus promised her the Living Water. Then acknowledges him as a prophet in verse 19. It says I perceive that you are a prophet. And finally, she knew him as the Messiah, the savior, the savior of this world, the Redeemer of this world and that is in verse 25, 26 and 29. Increasing understanding of who Christ is, this is a common experience for all believers because it's the Holy Spirit who gives us the wisdom to know Jesus when we have not accepted Jesus or when we are not born again, it was the Holy Spirit was convicting, us of our sins and also telling us that we need Jesus, it may take us many days or many years, but the Holy Spirit keeps on telling us that we need Jesus. And one day we accepted Jesus and then the Holy Spirit comes in us and he guides us, he gives us the language to pray. These are the things which we see as progressive revelation of Jesus Christ. And now we know that Jesus is in our hearts. 

Prayer 

Let us pray. Heavenly father. I thank you. Lord, that you are the God. Jesus you have revealed to us yourself to us our master

 If we have not received you, help us to take this decision today to commit ourselves to you, Lord, because the holy spirit is the one who convicts us, and the Holy spirit will be in us when we are  receive Jesus in our hearts.

God continue to guide us through the Holy spirit in Jesus precious name I pray. Amen. God bless you.

Praise the Lord. Today's verse is from John 4th chapter and verses one and two. We are studying from the fourth chapter of John from today. Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees have heard that Jesus was baptizing more disciples than John, although Jesus himself did not baptize but only his disciples. Praise the Lord. Today's verse is from John 4 5. As he came to the town of Samaria. Called psychar near the field that Jacob had given to his son, Joseph. Hallelujah. In this verse, we see that John the author of this book, had an accurate knowledge of the land of Israel, And also he knew the history of that land. In Genesis 33 19. We see that when Jacob came back to the land of Israel from the house of Leban his father in law, he brought This place For a hundred pieces of silver. It was called the city of Sheikhim.  Jacob says he had given Joseph one portion above his brother. In Genesis 50:25. Then Joseph took an oath from the children of Israel saying, God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here.
