True prayer is much more than asking God for things. It is a living, vital relationship with our heavenly Father. We must learn to come before Him with a childlike simplicity, in faith, trusting and knowing that He desires to pour into our lives all that we need.
Too many times, when the answer does not come immediately, Christians are willing to resign themselves to the fact that their prayer was unanswered because it was not God’s will. God’s law  is that everyone who asks in faith receives!
To go beyond ordinary prayer, we cannot be content with head knowledge or religious tradition. The cry of our hearts must be,
“Lord, break through the dead, dry tradition and formalism, and teach us how to pray as you prayed!”
