John 3:14

Praise the Lord. Today's verse is from John 3 14 as Moses lifted up the serpent in the Wilderness. So must the And be lifted up that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

John goes back to a strange Old Testament story, which is told in numbers, 24 4-9. On the, on their Journey, through the Wilderness, the people of Israel murmured, and complained, and regretted that they had ever left Egypt to punish them. God sent a plague of deadley fiery serpents the people repented and cried for Mercy, God instructed Moses to make an image of a serpent made of  bronze and to hold it up in the center of the camp.

Those who looked upon the serpent were healed. The story much impressed the Israelites. Even though must the son of, man, that is Jesus The Messiah be lifted up. As the serpent was on the pole, likewise Jesus must be lifted up on a cross. Jesus now recalls one of the Earthly things to Nicodemus and opens its spiritual message. Jesus is saying, a look of Faith to a crucified Messiah would bring healing and life to the your sinful Soul, as the look of Faith at the Brazen, serpent, brought health and life to a dying Israelite.

Jesus speaks of himself being lifted up on the cross in John 12 32. He says that if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all man unto me. The Lord even in both cases was speaking not merely of being lifted up from the earth on a Roman cross but as well as being lifted out of the earth altogether, this includes his cross his death his resurrection and Ascension. Yes, today, Jesus is ascended into heaven is seated at the right hand of the father, and when we look to him, we have salvation, Hallelujah.
