John 3:29


Praise the Lord. Today's verse is from John 3 29, 

The one who has the bride is the bridegroom, the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him rejoices greatly at the bride groom's voice. Therefore, the joy of mine is now complete. 

Finally, John used a very vivid picture, which every Jew would recognize He called  Jesus the bridegroom and himself the friend. Bridegroom is one of the great pictures of the Old Testament is of Israel as the bride of God and God as the bridegroom of Israel. The union between God and Israel was so close that it could be likened only to a wedding. Today The church is likened to be the bride and Jesus is the bridegroom Paul says in Ephesians 5 25. Husbands love your wives. Just as Jesus also, loved the church and gave himself up for her. The friend of the bridegroom has a unique place at the Jewish wedding, he arranged the wedding, he went out or sent out the invitations, he presided at the wedding, Feast he brought the bride and the bridegroom together and he had a special duty, it was his duty to guard the bridal chamber. He would open the door only when it is dark and when in the dark, he heard the bridegroom's voice and recognized it and let him in and he went away rejoicing. 

Jesus calls himself the bridegroom.

In Mat 9:14,15 The disciples came to Jesus saying, why do we and the Pharisees fast but your disciples do not fast. Jesus said to them can the wedding guest morn as long as the bridegroom is with them. The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them. And then, they will fast. We are living. In a time of the bridegroom's absence. The period between Jesus Ascension into heaven and His return. We need to fast now to give greater time and attention to spiritual matter and to prayer. Fasting is also a sign of a Christian's longing to be United with Christ at his return and a means of preparing for Christ's coming. And also a sign of sorrow for the sins and spiritual decay of this world.

Prayer

 Let us pray. Heavenly Father I thank you for this day o God. Help us to know that you are coming soon. Help us to be prepared for your coming

Oh God help us to be in praye and also in fasting that we will know Lord, that your comming is near and we will be able to show our love towards you. We commit ourselves to your hands in Jesus name, I pray

Praise the Lord. Today's verse is from John 4 5. As he came to the town of Samaria. Called psychar near the field that Jacob had given to his son, Joseph. Hallelujah. In this verse, we see that John the author of this book, had an accurate knowledge of the land of Israel, And also he knew the history of that land. In Genesis 33 19.
