John 3:8
Praise the Lord. Today's verse is from John 3 8. The wind blows, where it wishes. And you hear it sound. But you do not know where it comes from or where it goes, so it is with everyone who is born of the spirit.
In this way, Jesus explains the born-again experience. He likens it to the wind which comes and goes, but it is impossible to tell exactly how or what causes it to blow in a certain direction or exactly where it originates. The idea is one cannot deny it's presence because it can be readily felt. However, it's coming and going is a mystery.
So it is with everyone who is born of the spirit. The born again experience is beyond comprehension. One knows that God is the author of the Salvation and that he carries it out by the power of the Holy Spirit, according to the faith evidenced in Jesus, And what he did at Calvary.
We also know it is a gift of God. However, The means of, in which the Lord. This, the changing of a human heart immediately upon faith in Christ is as the wind indiscernible. I can only say that I experienced a born-again experience 40 years back in a small house in Bangalore.
And it is still fresh in my mind. My life changed, I started to have interest in the things of God. I started to read my word of God, I started to pray, I started to go to meetings where the gospel was preached and my sinful nature left me.
So I can tell it is an experience that every Christian had to go through. Have you gone through this experience? Have you been born again?
Prayer
Let us pray. Holy Father, I thank you. That the born-again experience is from you. It is not through human efforts. It's not through human works, or it is not even through our religious life, but it is the work by the Holy spirit in our lives.
Lord each one of us, we need it. Oh God, we commit ourselves into your hands. We give you glory in Jesus name, I pray. Amen. God bless you.
